Buying local is good for you, good for your farmer, and good for the land. You can eat local right here in Eugene, Oregon! It's taken me a while to find my local farmers, but Eugene has so many amazing local food options that now I can't imagine eating without them.

Buying local meat and veggies is a great way to support your health and the health of the animals you end up eating! Factory farms and industrial agriculture are terrible: We’re talking about tons of pesticides being sprayed, ecosystems destroyed, and lives being defiled by poor living conditions.
The farms near Eugene where I buy my beef/buffalo support not just happy livestock, but also wild animals like bear, turkey, cougar, geese, ducks, deer, and even elk. At one of the farms there is a fenced garden for organic veggies, and it’s an amazing synergy between the needs of humans and nature.
To find a local farm, check out localharvest.org or your local farmers market where I found @mybrothersfarm or get out and drive the Eugene countryside like I did, looking for farm stand signs. That’s how I found Polyrock Ranch, where I buy beef! As always contact me if you need assistance and let’s support healthy food systems in Eugene, Oregon!
